Rachel was last seen on 10 November 2022 in the morning by her sister Emily. Rachel lived with her sister and her own two children at her sister’s home. Rachel went missing on 10 November 2022.
When Emily returned home in the 300 block of Country Club Drive in the Wood Ranch area. She found evidence of a struggle inside. She found a significant amount of blood at the scene.
Rachel’s personal items such as car keys, cell phone, and vehicle were at the residence but Rachel was not there. Emily called the police. Police determined that a crime took place.
Police started to Rachel. Rachel’s father drove in from Northern California on 11 November 2022 to assist with the search for his daughter. He told NBC4 on Friday night,
“She is in need of immediate help. Just think if this was your kid.”
Rachel’s family told KABC that Rachel dropped off her both children to their father on 10 November 2022’s morning before she disappeared.
Emily told the local station,
“As soon as I saw the blood, that’s when I realized something wasn’t right,” Emily Castillo, her sister, told the local station. She had returned home Thursday night. “So I called my mom to let her know to come over and then I immediately called 911. Many of her belongings — including her phone, keys and car — were still at the home.”
It is said that Rachel’s ex-husband Ali picked up their two children from Rachel’s apartment the day Rachel went missing.
Police arrested Ali as the primary suspect at his parents’ home in Victorville in connection to Rachel’s homicide.
Police found Rachel’s dead body in a remote location in Antelope Valley Sunday afternoon. Police said,
“This investigation has rapidly evolved over the past few days. This case is still under investigation and some details cannot be released due to legal and investigative reasons. The Simi Valley Police Department will release additional details related to this case when it is available.”
